Are the live streams archived for later viewing?
Currently we only offer live streaming. We may add in the ability to archive shows in the future.
How many people can watch my broadcast at one time?
We do not restrict the number of people that can connect to the live stream.
Can I use my own encoding software to send the signal to you?
You will need to use the Awcast Broadcaster software to send us your initial source feed. This can be downloaded for free from your account page.
What speed of internet connection do I need to broadcast.
To broadcast a live video stream you will need at least 200kbps of available upload speed. For audio only we recommend at least 100kbps of available upload.
Can I place the stream directly on my own website?
You can place the direct link to your broadcast page on your website but the stream itself is only viewable from www.awcast.com.
Can I stream adult content through the service?
As the site is open for minors to access adult content is not allowed on the webcasts.
My station was locked. Why was this done?
We will lock any stations that are caught violating our ToS by broadcasting illegal or adult content. We also reserve the right to shut down a station for any reason. If your station is locked you can use the contact form to request details on the reason.
Is there a delay on the live video?
There is a 20-30 second delay on any of the live streams. This is due to buffers that are in place on the player and on the server.
How do I get started as a broadcaster?
1. Sign up for the free account on our website.
2. Log in to your account and create your station.
3. Download and install the Awcast Broadcaster software from the link provided in your station information section.
4. Launch the Awcast Broadcaster software on your local computer and log in with your Awcast username and password.
5. Select your devices and click on "Start" to begin broadcasting.
